Cut out the paper body connect the top to the bottom. Copy two puppet bodies.

 

Cut out the paper mouth plate. Trace the felt pen around the edges. White pen on black felt is good, but any other pen on red felt is perfectly fine.

 

Sew the two body pieces A and B together along the sides leaving the mouth and the bottom part open.

 

Open the mouth of the puppet body and pin the felt mouth plate along the edge of the hole. Sew it.

 

Cut two cardboard mouth plate pieces. If you are using glue sticks, be generous on the cardboard and the felt. Otherwise, you can’t stick properly. Wait 3-5 minutes for glue to set.

 

Put your hand inside. Turn the puppet body inside out.

 

If you’re using safety eyes, be careful until you are ready to snap them together because the snaps will not come off. Attach the eyes 1 ½ inches above the mouth.​

 

Optional: Cut four fabric arm pieces. If you want movement, you will need rods. Sew arms leaving a small gap in the palm seam. Insert the rod and stitch it through. You could buy rods or make your own. See the instructions video.

 

Stuff the arms. Fold the arms slightly inside, securing pins with the shoulders. Sew it by hand.

 

Decorate your puppet. Voilà!
